Platform Features

Built for how orchards actually work

Every feature in Orchard360 is designed around the real workflows of growers, sector managers, finance teams, and orchard heads — no generic software, no spreadsheet replacements.

01 — Orchard Master

Lot & Block Management

  • Sector → Orchard → Lot → Block → Row hierarchy
  • Inline editing of lot details, tree counts, and metadata
  • Block code management with orchard-wide uniqueness validation
  • Variety change workflows with block code preview and approval routing
  • Producing vs planted vs total tree tracking per lot and block
  • Lot drawer with Overview, Budget, Row History, and Audit tabs

02 — Approvals

Approval Workflows

Every block action — planting, removing, trunk chopping, or grafting — goes through a structured approval process with email notifications, mandatory reasoning, and immutable records.

  • Submit plant, remove, trunk chop, and graft actions per row
  • Automatic routing to orchard head or sector manager based on action type
  • Email notifications on submit, approval, rejection, and send-back
  • Mandatory reviewer notes on every decision
  • Tree counts update on approval — never before
  • Full action history retained per block indefinitely

03 — Budget & Forecast

Monthly Forecasting

Sector managers enter four forecast drivers per lot — Buds, Size, Pickout%, and Packout% — and Orchard360 auto-calculates Bins and TCEs. Every submission is versioned and traceable.

  • Driver-based model: Buds × Size × Pickout% × Packout% → Bins → TCEs
  • Prior forecast values shown inline for each driver cell
  • Variance vs Target/Budget and vs prior forecast calculated automatically
  • Each resubmission creates a new version — all history preserved
  • Period lock prevents editing once Finance closes the month
  • Status badges: Draft → Submitted → Approved / Overwritten / Sent Back

04 — Crop Volume Review

Finance Review & Oversight

Finance teams see every sector's submission alongside prior actuals and Target/Budget figures. Approve, override with Finance figures, or send back — all with mandatory reasoning and full audit trail.

  • Side-by-side: SM figures, Finance override, prior actuals, Target/Budget
  • Approve SM figures or approve with Finance override
  • Send Back with reason — routes back to sector manager with email
  • Re-review approved entries until period is globally locked
  • Period lock banner disables all actions when Finance closes the month
  • Driver chips with colour-coded variance (Size inverted: bigger = red)

Complete, Immutable History

Every single action in Orchard360 — approvals, forecast changes, lot edits, block code updates — is permanently logged. Nothing is overwritten. Nothing is deleted. Ever.

  • Every mutation writes a record: who, what, which record, when
  • Block action log: row-level planted, removed, trunk chopped, grafted per date
  • Lot edit history: field-level change tracking with before/after values
  • Forecast version history: every submission and review step stored
  • Audit Trail tab inside every lot drawer for instant per-lot view
  • Exportable for compliance, reporting, and disputes

Grower Dashboard

A purpose-built landing experience for every role. Sector managers see their sector's health at a glance. Orchard heads see cross-sector KPIs. Everyone lands on what matters to them — not a generic home screen.

  • Season Snapshot: total hectares, lots, producing trees, forecast bins & TCEs
  • Pending Actions: structure requests, unsubmitted & sent-back forecasts
  • Due Dates & Deadlines: colour-coded urgency (red ≤3 days, amber ≤7 days)
  • Org Notices: announcements with optional expiry, posted by orchard heads
  • Recent Activity: last 10 audit log entries for your org
  • Role-scoped: sector managers see only their assigned sectors' data

07 — Network

Supply Network

Secure, permission-controlled data sharing between grower and packer organisations. A packer requests access — the grower decides exactly which lots to share, at lot-level granularity, with a full audit trail of every change.

  • Packer sends access request to any grower on the platform
  • Supplier selects exactly which lots to share on approval
  • In-app notifications: request, approved, declined — real-time
  • Receiver sees shared lots in read-only; supplier always controls the data
  • Lot allocations updated at any time without re-requesting
  • All relationship changes logged to the immutable audit trail

Packhouse Destinations & Packer View

Packer organisations get a purpose-built incoming supply view — total volumes by variety and by grower, alongside AOP targets. Growers allocate lots to packhouse destinations per season, giving packers full forward visibility of what's coming.

  • Packer dashboard: incoming supply by variety and by grower
  • AOP target vs forecast volume comparison per variety
  • Lot-to-packhouse allocation: grower assigns each lot per season
  • Packer sees allocated lots in read-only via supply relationship
  • Season-based allocations — not locked in permanently
  • Full allocation history retained in audit log

Variety Benchmarking

See how your orchard performs against your region and the wider industry — per variety. Orchard360 aggregates cross-grower data with a strict 3-org anonymisation threshold, so you always know how you compare without exposing anyone's figures.

  • Per-variety comparison: yield per ha, packout %, average size
  • My metrics vs regional average vs industry average
  • 3-org minimum threshold before regional/industry averages are shown
  • Colour-coded: green if above average, red if below
  • Individual grower data is never exposed — aggregates only
  • Region assignment managed per org via superadmin
